Setlist Helper for Android - Release Notes
Below is the version history for Setlist Helper on Android. Keep your app updated through the Google Play Store to get the latest features and fixes.
Version 4.68
August 2026
- Fixed for Android 16 - after updating to Android 16, the toolbar could cover the first song in your list, and on the song screen the Save and Cancel buttons ended up behind the system navigation bar where they could not be tapped. The app now leaves room for the system bars at the top and bottom of the screen.
- Setlists no longer rearrange themselves - if two songs in a setlist ended up sharing the same position number, their order was undefined and could come out differently each time you opened the setlist.
- Songs are added to the end of a setlist again - the next position was worked out by counting the songs rather than by taking the highest number in use. Those two match until you delete a song from a setlist, after which a newly added song could be given a number another song already had, and land in the middle of the list. Setlists you had never removed a song from were never affected, which is why this looked intermittent.
- If a setlist of yours is already out of order, drag one song into place once and it will stay put from now on.
Version 4.67
August 2026
- Self-repairing database - if an earlier update left the app’s database missing a piece, the app now detects it and repairs itself when it opens, instead of failing later on.
- Share and Print show the right field - the Other field was printing the contents of Notes instead of Other.
- Register is always available - the Register button now appears on the Sync screen whenever you are signed out, so creating an account is never hidden.
- Fixed a crash when saving audio player settings with the metronome beats field left empty.
- Fixed a crash when sharing a setlist that had just been removed.
- Updated for Android 16.
Version 4.66
August 2026
- Faster sync - Your song list now downloads first on its own, and lyrics fill in quietly in the background afterwards. Syncing is much quicker, especially with a large library, and your whole library is still available offline once the background download finishes.
- Bluetooth pedal no longer dims the screen - Pressing a pedal to turn the page could darken the screen on some devices. This depended on your text size and light or dark setting, which is why it affected some players and not others.
- Website edits are no longer overwritten - Songs could be re-uploaded on every sync even when nothing had changed, which could wipe out an edit you had just made at setlisthelper.com. The app now only uploads songs you actually edited.
- Sync fixed for Thai and other regional calendars - On devices set to a Thai region, dates were saved 543 years in the future, so edits made on the website could never reach the app. Dates are now stored correctly.
- Play button shows a pause icon - The toolbar play button now switches to a pause icon while auto-scroll is running, and honors your “Show auto-scroll adjustments” setting.
- Fixed auto-scroll and backing track playback getting out of step with one another, and your Stop-audio preference is now respected.
- Chord sheet headers now transpose no matter how the key directive is capitalized.
- The pedal “back to previous song” action works again at the start of a song.
- The metronome now applies each song’s own tempo in compact mode.
- Fixed crashes when opening very large lyrics, sharing a setlist, starting the metronome on some devices, attaching a file when no file manager is installed, and scrolling a filtered song list.
Version 4.60
July 2026
- Much faster cloud sync - Songs and edits now upload in batches instead of one at a time, and only songs changed since your last sync are downloaded. Idle syncs that used to take many seconds now finish in about a second, and editing a batch of songs is dramatically quicker.
- Tag picker pre-checks your tags - When you open the tag picker for a song, the tags already assigned to it are now checked automatically so you can see and change them at a glance.
- Half-step scroll speeds - Auto-scroll now offers a half-step (.5) between every whole speed, so you can fine-tune the pace to match your song.
- Word documents opened from a setlist now honor your “External Document Viewer” setting.
- Additional stability fixes.
Version 4.54
June 2026
- Setlist navigation bar - Fixed an issue where the navigation row showing your previous and next songs would sometimes not appear. It now displays reliably everywhere, including on the first lyric, break screens, and songs without lyrics. Showing or hiding the bar also takes effect immediately.
- Audio playback - More reliable cueing and playback of attached backing tracks. A paused song is kept when you cue the next song, no longer resumes on its own when you reopen its lyrics, and a cued song shows its total time before playback begins.
- Faster lyric search - Lyric search returns results more quickly, with a more responsive Stop button.
- Editing lyrics no longer jumps the view back to the top of the song.
- Renamed the lyric view “Change View Scale” option to “Text Size”.
- More chord sheet file types are recognized on import (.cho, .chordpro, .chord).
- Additional crash and performance fixes for newer versions of Android.
Version 4.52
April 2026
- Detect Pedals - New interactive tool in Settings > Bluetooth Pedal to identify your pedal buttons. Press each button on your Bluetooth pedal and the app shows which pedal it detected and what action is assigned to it.
- Improved search - Song search is now accent and diacritic-insensitive. Searching for “Nino” will find “Niño”, “cafe” finds “café”, and accented characters in Greek, French, Spanish, German, and other languages are matched correctly.
- Fixed a crash when opening Word documents on Android 12 and newer.
